Abstract:Abstract.A simple mononuclear octahedral copper(II) complex was attempted from the reaction of three moles of 1-benzoyl-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole and one mole of copper(II) perchlorate hexahydrate in methanol. However, the product of the reaction was confirmed to be a dinuclear copper(II) complex with μ-{3-(pyridin-2-yl)-pyrazolato} and 3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligands attached to each of the Cu(II) centre atom.
