Formation of a Metalloporphyrin‐Based Nanoreactor by Postsynthetic Metal–Ion Exchange of a Polyhedral‐Cage Containing a Metal–Metalloporphyrin Framework

Abstract: The authors have noticed a minor error in the procedure of the catalytic reaction in the Supporting Information of their Communication. The correct procedure of the catalytic reaction mentioned on page S2 is as follows: in a typical procedure, stilbene (1.0 mmol), MMPF-5(Co) (0.001 mmol), aqueous tBuOOH (added 130 mL at 0 h, 4 h, 8 h, total 3.0 mmol), and CH 3 CN (5.0 mL) were added to the flask and the resulting mixture was stirred at 60 8C for 24 h. The authors apologize for this oversight and for any inconv… Show more

“…Another strategy decorates the porphyrin macrocycle with bulky functional groups to protect the active sites, which is limited by the difficulty of synthesizing these porphyrins [6]. Currently, an additional strategy that has spurred tremendous interest is to incorporate or encapsulate heme into various networks, including metal metalloporphyrins-organic frameworks (MMOFs) [7][8][9][10][11][12][13], covalent metalloporphyrinic frameworks (CMFs) [14][15][16][17] and covalent metalloporphyrinic polymers (CMPs) [18][19][20][21][22]. Among them, covalent metalloporphyrinic polymers (CMPs) are the easiest to design and develop among the three aforementioned classes of materials, they are non-crystalline and have non-uniform pores that are typically somewhat ill-defined.…”

“…A family of metal-metalloporphyrin frameworks (MMPF) has been explored since 2011 by Ma´s research group [29,30,35,38], herein coined MMPF-2, -3, -5 and -6 (see Table 1 [35]. Compound MMPF-3 exhibits different types of polyhedral cages -cubohemioctahedron, truncated tetrahedron and truncated octahedron, being the last one represented in Figure 6.…”

“…It is important to emphasize that the cadmium building units did not show any catalytic activity: control tests performed with MMPF-5 and without any catalyst typically led to very low conversions (both values of ca. 9%) [30].…”

“…It is noteworthy that today in the search for new materials many reports on porphyrin metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been published [16][17][18][19][20][21].…”
