Abstract:The formation of positive ions of antihydrogen H+ via the three body reaction (i) e + + e − + H → e − + H+ is considered. In reaction (i), free positrons e + are incident on antihydrogen H embedded in a gas of low-energy (∼ meV) electrons and, due to the positron-electron interaction, a positron is attached to H whereas an electron carries away the energy excess. We compare reaction (i) with two radiative attachment mechanisms. One of them is (ii) spontaneous radiative attachment, in which the ion is formed du… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
