Formation of one-dimensional hierarchical MoO2@C–Ni/CoNi hybrids as highly efficient catalysts and protein adsorbents

Abstract: Intercalation of MoO2-supported nickel nanoparticles (NPs) with mesoporous carbon layer has been achieved through thermal reduction of hierarchical nickel molybdate with Ni2+-polydopamine complex (PDA-Ni2+) coated on its surfaces. High coverage...

“…Typical type IV isotherms with H3-type hysteresis loops ( P / P 0 > 0.4) were observed. 43–48 As was expected, the hierarchical nanowires exhibited a specific surface area of 32.40 m 2 g −1 (Fig. 1R).…”

“…As seen in Figure F, the k value of Ag 2 S/MoS 2 @PPy (a) nanotubes is much larger than that of Ag 2 S/MoS 2 @PPy-80 (b) and Ag 2 S/MoS 2 @PPy-20 (c), revealing the excellent intrinsic activity of Ag 2 S/MoS 2 @PPy. The tubular structure and Ag 2 S/MoS 2 NSs lead to the improved catalytic activity toward reducing 4-NP, so the excellent catalytic efficiency of Ag 2 S/MoS 2 @PPy was validated. Ag 2 S/MoS 2 NSs are covered on the PPy nanotubes to expose rich catalytic sites. Furthermore, PPy nanotubes hold a 1D tubular structure and accessible mesopores for enhancing molecular diffusion and mass transportations.…”

“…When 4-nitrophenol was mixed with NaBH 4 in an aqueous solution, the color of the solution turned from light yellow to yellow-green due to the formation of 4-nirtophenolate, resulting in the shift of the absorption peak from 317 nm to 400 nm. 46–52 Without a catalyst, no significant color change was observed within the reaction time, and only a slight decrease in the intensity of the absorption peak at 400 nm was observed (Fig. 4D(d)).…”
