In order to develop the method, the possibilities of determining the type of atmospheric turbulence (Kolmogorov, coherent, etc.) based on meteorological measurements data, receiving from a weather station in real time were researched. To do this, a spectral analysis of successive samples is carried out by a time sliding-window from the continuously replenished assembly of meteorological elements values. The air temperature was selected from the meteorological elements to work out the method. The criterion for changing the types of turbulence is the value of the slope of the inertial interval of the temperature fluctuation spectrum, which is equal to «-5/3» under Kolmogorov turbulence, and «-8/3» under coherent turbulence. Using the method, it is possible to estimate the spatial dimensions of turbulence regions of a certain type based on information about wind velocity and duration of the registration time.
