Forming limit diagrams by including the M–K model in finite element simulation considering the effect of bending

Abstract: Forming limit diagram is often used as a criterion to predict necking initiation in sheet metal forming processes. In this study, the forming limit diagram was obtained through the inclusion of the Marciniak-Kaczynski model in the Nakazima out-of-plane test finite element model and also a flat model. The effect of bending on the forming limit diagram was investigated numerically and experimentally. Data required for this simulation were determined through a simple tension test in three directions. After compar… Show more

“…For this reason, the investigation of their mechanical characteristics is a great interest for engineering design and manufacturing. In the field reinforcement structures, Habibi et al [10][11][12][13][14] with the aid of some methods improved the mechanical property of macro-structures. Dong et al [15] presented an analytical study on linear and nonlinear vibration characteristics and dynamic responses of spinning FG graphene-reinforced thin cylindrical shells with various boundary conditions and subjected to a static axial load.…”

“…(3) Compared with the prediction results of BP, SVM, and ELM methods, the BA-ELM prediction method interprets the nonlinear relationship between residual gas content in coal seam and drilling cuttings indices more accurately and has a wider application prospect in prediction of the residual gas content in coal seam. (4) In the future study, the mechanical properties of different types of drilling tools [40][41][42][43][44] and their relationship with drilling cuttings indices will be studied. Meanwhile, advanced algorithms such as improved dolphin swarm [45,46] will be applied to further improve the prediction accuracy of residual gas content in coal seam.…”

“…7–12 In the field of improving the mechanical properties, enhancing the elastoplastic stability and instability of sheet metal are presented in some researches with the aid of experimental and finite element method. 1,1326 Sun and Zhao 27 compared the fracture behavior of the functionally graded (FG) cemented carbide reinforced with and without the GPL. They claimed that the property of GPLs in the nanocomposites is worked as a stopper for micro cracks.…”
