Fostering Inclusive Education

Abstract

This chapter presents a biopsychosocial approach as a framework for understanding inclusive education. Also, this chapter outlines the challenges faced by children with special educational needs and the relevant stakeholders when tackling this issue, including defining inclusive education within their resource constraints and overcoming societal barriers. It delves into the practical strategies for fostering inclusion, such as effective identification and support, individualized educational plans (IEPs), engaging teaching methods, and accessible learning environments. The chapter concludes by highlighting key areas for future research, including the impact of technology, culturally responsive practices, and the long-term outcomes of inclusive education for students with disabilities
