Foundation Pit Collapse on 8 June 2019 in Nanning, China: A Brief Report

Abstract: This short communication reports on the recent incident of a foundation pit collapse at a construction site on 8 June 2019 in Nanning City of Guangxi Province, China. There were no injuries or casualties reported for this incident. This report presents the incident background, management measures taken after the incident, and a brief discussion of the causes of the incident. Some mitigation measures are suggested to prevent similar incidents in the future based on the preliminary analysis.
