Four Bryophytes Collected in Tunisia, New for Mainland Africa

Abstract: Recent fieldwork in Tunisia resulted in the discovery of one liverwort (Saccogyna viticulosa (L.) Dumort.) and three mosses (Orthotrichum bistratosum (Schiffn.) J.Guerra, Pseudotaxiphyllum elegans (Brid.) Z.Iwats., Tortula protobryoides R.H.Zander) new for mainland Africa. The localities are briefly described with a focus on habitats, accompanying species, and comments on taxonomy and variability.
