Fractional boundary layer flow and radiation heat transfer of MHD viscoelastic fluid over an unsteady stretching surface

Abstract: This paper presents an investigation for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) viscoelastic fluid boundary layer flow and radiation heat transfer over an unsteady stretching sheet in presence of heat source. Time dependent fractional derivative is first introduced in formulating the boundary layer equations. Numerical solutions are obtained by using the finite difference scheme and L1-algorithm approximation. Results indicate that the proposed model describes a basic delaying times framework for viscoelastic flow and radi… Show more

“…Megahed [28] made used of Maxwell model for exploring viscoelastic flow due to an unsteadily stretching surface subjected to variable heat flux. Later on, non-Newtonian fluid flows triggered by stretching action of the surface with time-dependent rate were reported by different authors including Shen et al [29], Naganthran et al [30], Shah et al [31], Rafiq et al [32], Ahmad et al [33], Sindhu and Gireesha [34], Abbas et al [35] etc.…”

“…The fractional differential equations may introduce these phenomena more precise than classic modeling. Therefore, the fractional differential equations were used in engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, and other fields (Podlubny 1999;Chen et al 2015;Shen et al 2015). In general, the area of fractional calculus has fast progress and many proposed applications in different science and engineering branches.…”

“…Temperature variation in MHD flow of power law fluid induced by a non-isothermal stretching boundary was described by Prasad and Vajravelu (2009). In recent past, abundant material concerning MHD flows around flat plate/surfaces has been published (Zheng et al , 2012; Shen et al , 2015; Mustafa et al , 2015a, 2015b; Raju and Sandeep, 2016; Pop et al , 2016; Hsiao, 2016; Mushtaq et al , 2016a, 2016b; Hsiao, 2017a, 2017b, 2017c; Tian et al , 2017; Hsiao, 2017a, 2017b, 2017c; Mustafa et al , 2017a, 2017b; Reddy et al , 2017 and various refs. there in).…”
