Fractional PID controlled cascaded flyback switched mode power supply with enhanced time domain response

Abstract: <p>This work compacts with the modeling, simulation, and application of a Fractional Order Proportional Integral Differential (FOP-I-D) controlled Cascaded Flyback Switched Mode Power Supply (CFSMPS) system. It recommends Parallel cascaded flyback converter for the production of essential DC voltage from the input supply voltage. The output from CFSMPS is regulated by using closed loop configuration. The simulation of Closed-loop Proportional-Integral (PI) and FOP-I-D controlled CFSMPS system has been do… Show more

“…Variations in load and input voltages will affect the output voltage which is not desirable (Chandran and Jothi, 2013). To overcome the above drawback, a closed-loop configuration is used wherein a part of the output is fed back to the switch which suitably corrects the duty ratio to maintain the output voltage constant (Sasikala and Krishnakumar, 2019). The PI and PR controllers are used in the feedback path to change the converter duty cycle which in turn the output voltage is regulated (Alzate and Posada, 2017).…”

“…In these controller strategies, integral and differentiators are of fractional order. To use the fractional order is a step closure to real life because the natural processes are mostly fractional [7,8]. However, the fractional nature may be very small.…”
