Framework for designing Adaptive Automation

Abstract: Adaptive automation (AA) has been proposed as a solution for problems associated with using static automation. Despite the potential benefits of AA systems, several limitations impede the construction of an effective operational AA system. Hence, the goal of the present paper is to provide general guidelines for constructing an AA system while addressing some of the associated design issues.
