Free Vibration Analysis of Fiber Metal Laminate Annular Plate by State-Space Based Differential Quadrature Method

Abstract: A three-dimensional elasticity theory by means of a state-space based differential quadrature method is presented for free vibration analysis of fiber metal laminate annular plate. The kinds of composite material and metal layers are considered to be S2-glass and aluminum, respectively. A semianalytical approach which uses state-space in the thickness and differential quadrature in the radial direction is implemented for evaluating the nondimensional natural frequencies of the annular plates. The influences of… Show more

“…Shooshtari and Razavi [56] described free vibrations of composite and FML rectangular plates based on first shear deformation theory that nonlinear equations were solved by multiple time scale method. Rahimi et al [57] presented a combination of differential quadrature method, state-apace and Fourier series to analyze free vibration of FML annular plate with a central hole subjected to different boundary conditions. The results showed that the natural frequencies of the plate increased with an increment in the radius of the hole.…”

“…Detailed investigation of the influence of variation in material property parameters and plate geometry variables on the natural frequency is carried out. Rahimi et al [45] presented free vibration analysis of fiber metal laminate annular plate by state-space based differential quadrature method. A semianalytical approach which uses state-space in the thickness and differential quadrature in the radial direction is implemented for evaluating the nondimensional natural frequencies of the annular plates. The influences of changes in boundary condition, plate thickness, and lay-up direction on the natural frequencies are studied.…”

“…Nowadays, various experimental methods potentially applicable to determine dynamic behaviour (free vibration, rotating-beam deflection, forced vibration response, continuous wave or pulse propagation technique) have been used [24][25][26][27]. The vibration response of the FML annular plate by combining different quadrature method was investigated by Rahimi et al [28]. However, their focus study is confined to circular plates only.…”
