Frequency adaptive PR-controller for compensation of current harmonics

Abstract: The use of proportional resonant (PR) current controller in grid side wind power converters instead of the traditional proportional integral (PI) controller has gained a large popularity. Particularly its capability for compensating harmonics in the current waveforms is an essential feature. Due to the replacing of the generator side converter by a simple diode rectifier, harmonics with variable frequencies into dependence of the generator frequency appear in the current waveforms. To reach the IEEE standard f… Show more

“…The elevated switching rate has numerous advantages such as lesser ripple current and quicker transient response, for example, if a motor is hastened starting idle to rated speed, and in order to have small current alteration the inverter switches [10,11] are made to operate at their highest possible switching…”

“…Especially its capacity for remunerating -harmonics in the present-waveforms was a fundamental-component. "_As an outcome of the displace of the generator-sideconverter by a direct diode-rectifier, harmonics with variable-frequencies into reliance of the generatorrecurrence shown-up in the present-waveforms" [14] 'Complex-controllers' (for-e.g., diverse turning dqplots or resonant-based) were much of the time required to reimburse low repeat grid-voltage foundation mutilation and a LCL-channel was regularly gotten for the elevatedrecurrence-one. The possible broad assortment of gridimpedance regards (distributed-generation was appropriate for remote domains with spiral scattering plants) challenge the-consistent quality &effectiveness.…”

“…To obtain the best performance from the PR control, its resonant frequency must be identical to the generator frequency [23]. Thus, it should be noticed that an adaptive adjustment of the PR control is necessary when generator frequency variations are registered in the system [24], [25]. The ideal way to accomplish this is to observe the precise generator frequency in real time to modify the PR parameters [26].…”
