Frequency Dependence of the AC Susceptibility of the Reentrant System CdCr2xIn2−2xS4 (0.85 < x ≦ 1)

Abstract: on the occasion of his 80th birthday AC permeability measurements of the reentrant spin glass system CdC:r2,In2-,S4 (0.85 < x 1) are performed on toroidal shaped samples by using the transformer technique since the demagnetizing factor is minimized. The complex permeability observed is very close to the true initial permeability. “…In our case, the relative size of the shift and the closeness of T 0 and T fg characterises rather a spin-glass like transition. Various criteria of the frequency dependence of T fg have been suggested to distinguish between a true thermodynamic transition (true spin-glass) or a dynamic non-equilibrium process (progressive freezing of cluster moments) [31].
