“…and paucity of Densoisporites psilatus and Classopollis meyerianus. The oldest instituted biozone herein, australis-folliculosa is distinct from the Australasian Norian APT5L subzone and Polycingulatisporites crenulatus Association Subzone(Bomfleur et al, 2014) with no shared taxa. However, C. sp.-R. tuberculatus and tuberculatus-polymicroforatus biozones combined are comparable with the Rhaetian APT5M and Foveosporites moretonensis Association Subzone(Bomfleur et al, 2014) in sharingPerinopollenites elatoides and Polycingulatisporites mooniensis.…”

“…The palynofloras examined are essentially distinct from the Australian Polycingulatisporites crenulatus Zone of Rhaetian-middle Sinemurian(de Jersey, 1975) and of middle Norian-Rhaetian age(de Jersey & McKellar, 2013) as well as the NorianHettangian P. crenulatus "Oppel" Zone(Helby et al, 1987) in lack of the eponymous index species. The same distinction applies when comparing the 12 Nayband palynofloras with the P. crenulatus Association Zone ofBomfleur et al (2014). Of a zonation scheme developed for Upper Triassic-Lower Jurassic of the Clarence-Moreton Basin, southeastern Queensland, Australia(de Jersey 1976;McKellar, 1981;de Jersey & McKellar, 2013), Assemblage A (partially Rhaetian) seems to be comparable with the Nayband assemblages in terms of abundance of Alisporites spp.…”

“…Rock samples for analysis of cuticle and other mesofossil content were treated using 48% hydrofluoric for up to 2 months until sufficient amounts of organic residues were obtained, depending on sample material. The organic residues were then carefully neutralized via repeated steps of decanting and adding distilled water, then macerated using Schulze's reagent (40% HNO 3 þ a few crystals of KClO 3 ) for up to 3 h, rinsed Bomfleur et al (2014); radiometric age data adopted from Elsner (2010), Elsner et al (2013), andGoodge andFanning (2010).…”
