Full mouth rehabilitation with tooth implant connection prosthesis: A case report with follow up

Abstract: Dental prosthesis that involves the combination of dental implants and natural teeth to replace missing teeth can not only increase the retention of the prosthesis but also provide good stability and aesthetic outcomes in most of the situations. However, prudent incorporation of the biomechanical principles is necessary for the design and construction of the prosthesis. Due to the anatomical differences in the functioning of tooth and an implant, certain issues can arise in the long-term success of the treatme… Show more

“…9 In our case report, we not only aimed at restoring the replaced teeth but also preserving the remaining teeth with weakened periodontal support by doing RCTs and crown placement. Numerous advantages are enlisted for such a combination of treatments which includes additional support, proprioception, and better load sharing as stated by Anand et al 10 The most important requisite for implants is the achievement of primary stability, which can be obtained by selecting appropriate implant width and length and using remaining cortical bone as stated by Greenstein et al 11 which was fulfilled in our case.…”

“…So, it is necessary to provide an implant-protected occlusion in such scenarios to increase the long-term prognosis. 10 Hence, in the present case the dentition of the patient was completely restored using the RCT and the missing tooth was replaced using implants to achieve a balanced occlusion.…”
