Abstract:Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a rare condition characterized by the obstruction of hepatic venous outflow. It is estimated to affect 1 in 100,000 people worldwide. In cases of new BCS, inherited and acquired hypercoagulability states must be evaluated.
