Functional Characterization of Alr0765, A Hypothetical Protein from Anabaena PCC 7120 Involved in Cellular Energy Status Sensing, Iron Acquisition and Abiotic Stress Management in E. coli Using Molecular, Biochemical and Computational Approaches

Abstract: Background: Cyanobacteria are excellent model to understand the basic metabolic processes taking place in response to abiotic stress. The present study involves characterization of a hypothetical protein Alr0765 of Anabaena PCC7120 comprising CBS-CP12 domain and deciphering its role in abiotic stress tolerance. Methods: Molecular cloning, heterologous expression and protein purification using affinity chromatography was performed to obtain native purified protein Alr0765. Energy sensing property of Alr0765 w… Show more

“…Another common use of TNP-ATP is as an antagonist of P2X receptors, as reviewed in ( 108 ) (see also ( 17 , 18 , 109 , 110 )), and it continues to inspire the design of new P2X receptor antagonists ( 111 ). TNP-ATP is also useful in screening proteins for ATP binding ( 97 , 112 , 113 , 114 , 115 ). Several studies have compared the binding properties of TNP-ATP with other TNP-linked nucleotides such as TNP-ADP, TNP-AMP, and TNP-GTP.…”

“…Under non-oxygenated conditions, a certain degree of salt stress in crops can make the production and elimination of reactive oxygen species relatively stable [45]. This is because salt stress can stimulate reactive oxygen species production in crops, which will lead to oxygen stress, and the reactive oxygen species can increase crop tolerance to oxygen stress by redox modification of target molecules to ensure normal crop growth and development [46]. For oxygenation, the oxygenation method we adopted was achieved by changing the number of micro-nanobubbles in the nutrient solution and then setting different dissolved oxygen concentrations.…”

“…Chatterjee et al [ 8 ] studied the abiotic stress tolerance mechanism of Cyanobacteria through Alr0765 protein study of Anabaena PCC7120. Alr0765 is a novel CBS-CP12 domain protein that has function to provide protection against stress through involving cellular energy mechanism and iron homeostasis.…”
