Abstract: Some isolates (for example Aspergillus ochraceus) showed a promising trend and could be possible candidates for a validation on a real scale. © 2016 Society of Chemical Industry.

“…The modified equation of Bevilacqua et al (2016) was used to fit the increase in diameter and it is intended to estimate the rate of fungal growth and the parameter τ, which could be used to compare the inhibition grade among isolates. Figure 1 shows an example of the diameter vs time plot of Pleurotus sajor-caju LBM 105 growing in both control and PCB-supplemented medium, and the fitting corresponding to Equation 1.

“…A second output of a multifactorial anova is the decomposition of the statistical hypothesis; as reported elsewhere (Bevilacqua et al ., ), the decomposition does not show actual values or effective trends, but a qualitative correlation on how each factor act on the dependent variable (hydrophobicity). As expected, the increase in the contact time caused a significant rise of hydrophobicity (Fig.…”

“…A second output of a multifactorial anova is the decomposition of the statistical hypothesis; as reported elsewhere (Bevilacqua et al ., ), decomposition does not show actual values or effective trends, but a qualitative correlation on how each predictor acts on the dependent variable (log reduction of the number of D. gallinae ). With respect to the effect of position (Fig.…”
