Fungicides against mildew case of Potato (Solanum tuberosum .L.) from the Triffa plain, irrigated area of Moulouya

Abstract: The 2016-2017 agricultural season was devoted to prospecting in different farms in the Triffa Plain. Mildew is present in almost all areas of the plain, given the favourable climatic conditions. Around 95% of the potato cultivated areas in the irrigated area of Moulouya are concentrated only in the Triffa plain, from which 51 plots have been identified. This survey showed that a total of 34 plots (476 hectares covering about 22% of the total area under potato cultivation) were attacked differently by the late … Show more

“…Since 1800s, the use of fungicides has provided much needed relief in the management of plant fungal diseases in agricultural production. Although the use of fungicide yielded great benefits, the attendant risks to human health, wildlife, and the environment cannot be overlooked [ 38 ]. Fungicides are frequently toxic to nontargeted organisms such as earthworms, microbes, and humans causing ecosystem imbalance [ 33 , 38 , 39 ].…”

“…Growers reduce production risks by spraying a series of protective fungicides. This crop is cultivated in large quantities throughout the world, which has contributed to the increase in the persistence of toxic residues in consumable products and the occurrence of resistance to certain active ingredients [4]. Failure to control downy mildew results in costs so high that growers are currently not prepared to risk their crops to follow a spray reduction program.…”
