Summary
A method of operating on femoral hernia has been described of which the following are the main features.
1. A tunnel is made round the neck of the sac under the inguinal ligament and interference with the inguinal canal is thus avoided.
2. The sac is treated by the method of inversion. Ten cases are reported without recurrence. It is suggested that, after removal of the sac, the femoral ring is closed by the pressure of blood in the femoral vein.
