Fusing vectors into scalars at high energy lepton colliders

Abstract: We study vector boson fusion production of new scalar singlets at high energy lepton colliders. We find that CLIC has the potential to test single production cross-sections of a few tens of attobarns in di-Higgs and di-boson final states. In models with a sizeable singlet-Higgs mixing, these values correspond to a precision in Higgs couplings of order 0.1% or better. We compare our sensitivities with those of the LHC and interpret our results in well-motivated models like the Twin Higgs, the NMSSM and axion-li… Show more

“…2 shows the predicted value of sin 2 γ, which is equal to the production cross-section for the scalon s in SM Higgs cross-section units (vertical axis), and of M s (horizontal axis) as function of g DC (colored legend). Various present and projected constraints from Higgs measurements and direct searches are also shown [26,27]. In particular, it can be seen that measuring Higgs couplings with a 10 −3 precision, which can be attained at future lepton colliders, would allow to probe models where s is light for several values of N .…”

“…Vector-like confinement [88] pioneered this study in the context of vector-like fermions that transform under part of the SM group as well as under a new, strongly-coupled group with scales near or above the electroweak scale. Further explorations into the phenomenology and especially the meson sector included [20,38,55,73,[89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96][97]. In theories with somewhat lower confinement scales, the dark sector may lead to dark showers and related phenomena [98][99][100][101][102][103][104], displaced signals [105,106] and potentially intriguing spectroscopy [47,107,108].…”
