Future scenarios of Smart Grids in Colombia and their impact on climate change

Abstract: By 2010, 67% of the electricity generated in Colombia was hydraulic and 28% by fossil fuels. The use of these fuels is associated CO 2e emissions, contributing to climate change. On the other hand, climatic events such as "El Niño" and "La Niña" affect the availability of reservoirs and make the Colombian electricity mix variable.
