Fuzzy control of a bi-directional inverter with nonlinear inductance for DC microgrids

Abstract: This paper proposes the design of fuzzy control of a bidirectional converter with variable inductance for dc microgrids. The nonlinear inductance model is developed and taken into consideration in the controller design of the bi-directional inverter to promote the performance. A novel fuzzy control strategy is proposed to increase the magnetizing voltage such that the current distortion is reduced. Simulated results demonstrated the effectiveness of the design.

“…Distributed Hybrid Power System (DHPS) is an example of renewable energy sources development in order to substitute fossil fuel. Integration between renewable energy sources (wind turbine, photovoltaic cell) and electric grid are enabled in DHPS [1]. A small scale DHPS is commonly called as a microgrid.…”

“…Renewable energy sources clearly appear as alternative solution for problems caused by fossil energy lack. Various advantages are provided on renewable energy sources, such as clean power generation and it is proven a lot of energy reserves [1].
