Fuzzy Logic Controller Based DVR For Power Quality Improvement under Different Power Disturbances with Non-Linear Loads

Abstract: The power quality problems can be defined as the difference between the quality of power supplied and the quality of power required. Recently a large interest has been focused on a power quality domain due to: disturbances caused by non-linear loads and Increase in number of electronic devices. Power quality measures the fitness of the electric power transmitted from generation to industrial, domestic and commercial consumers. At least 50% of power quality problems are of voltage quality type. Voltage sag is t… Show more

“…FLC is a control system that uses fuzzy set theory. Fuzzy controllers provide a simple work system based on the input information, and fuzzy controllers are based on system understanding and depend on controller rules [10], [28], [29]. This study uses fuzzy logic to control voltage injection on the DVR.…”

“…The types or names of devices used also have many variations [3,9]. Some use the concept of capacitor banks that utilise relays to add capacitive loads to the grid [10][11][12][13], dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) [14], static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) [15,16], and static VAR compensator (SVC) [17,18].…”
