Gain properties of an axially slotted cylinder with two coating layers

Abstract: The gain properties of an axially slotted cylinder coated with two lossless layers and embedded in a certain lossless background medium have been investigated analytically. The effects of different types of coating layers, i.e. dielectric, magnetic, and Single Negative materials upon the gain characteristics of an axial slot have been discussed. It is observed that if inner layer is either of dielectric or magnetic type and outer layer is an Epsilon Negative type having its relative permittivity of negative on… Show more

“…The gain properties of a dielectric-coated axially slotted cylinder embedded in a metamaterial background has been investigated by Awan [14]. The effects of two different dielectric, magnetic, and metamaterial coatings upon the gain pattern have been considered in [15]. The radiation characteristics of a chiral-coated slotted cylinder has been studied by Mahmoud [16] and Awan [17].…”

“…Once these unknown coefficients are known then the electric and magnetic fields in each region can be found using equations (8)–(11) and equations (12)–(15). Using the theory outlined in [46, 47, 50, 52], the overall gain of an axially slotted cylinder coated with a BI material and embedded in another BI background medium can be written as, The gain is associated with an RCP wave, whereas the gain is associated with an LCP wave in the background BI medium.…”
