Ganoderma Lucidum Protects Rat Brain Tissue Against Trauma-Induced Oxidative Stress

Abstract: ObjectiveTraumatic brain injury causes tissue damage, breakdown of cerebral blood flow and metabolic regulation. This study aims to investigate the protective influence of antioxidant Ganoderma lucidum (G. lucidum) polysaccharides (GLPs) on brain injury in brain-traumatized rats.MethodsSprague-Dawley conducted a head-traumatized method on rats by dropping off 300 g weight from 1 m height. Groups were categorized as control, G. lucidum, trauma, trauma+ G. lucidum (20 mL/kg per day via gastric gavage). Brain tis… Show more

“…This result indicated that GLTs could potentially exert a protective effect on AD. Similar to our results, Özevren et al provide evidence for G. lucidum protects rat brain tissue against traumainduced oxidative stress [37]. So, we concluded that GLTs relieved oxidative damage and inactivated the ROCK signaling pathway to play a protective role in AD mice and the multitarget effects of GLTs may have desirable advantages for the treatment of multifactorial neurodegenerative diseases such as AD.…”

“…(4) CDDP+GL daily group: rats received oral GL (500 mg/kg/day) in distilled water daily for 10 days starting 3 days before CDDP injection (12 mg/kg b.w, i.p) Cisplatin was given as a single dose of 12 mg/kg intraperitoneally according to previous studies [41]. Also, GL doses were chosen according to previous studies [42][43][44]. Also, pilot experimental trials were carried out for the same purpose.…”

“…In degenerative gland cells after endometriosis, NF-KB expression areas were observed in blood vessels, endothelium and surrounding inflammatory cells (Figure 2). As a result of accelerating endometriosis, NF-kB suppression monocytes/macrophages enhance M2 macrophage polarization and inhibit M1 macrophage polarization, developing a pro-repair environment causes neovascularization in ectopic lesions 21,26 .…”
