“…In studies performed by Sanusi et al (1999), Sauret et al (2008) and Scheyer et al (2008) it was also observed that G/P partitioning of pesticides can be influenced by temperature, but in opposition to the results obtained in the present study, this effect was very small and sparsely pronounced. However, S-metolachlor, in common between this study and those of Scheyer et al and Sauret et al, was also found not to be influenced by temperature in the present study, while trifluralin and alachlor, also in common between the present study and those of Sanusi et al, Scheyer et al and Sauret et al were not investigated as the regression of log K P against log P 0 L was not statistically significant.…”

“…Data obtained are mean values for the period of sampling and are compared with mean temperature and humidity. However, long sampling durations were used with success in other studies on PCBs (Yeo et al 2003; Castro-Jiménez et al Azoxystrobin b , benalaxyl b , bromuconazole c , bupirimate b , cyprodinil b , dimethomorph b , epoxiconazole b , fenbuconazole b , hexaconazole c , metalaxyl b , pyraclostrobin b , pyrimethanil b , quinoxyfen b , spiroxamine b , tolylfluanid b , triadimenol b , vinclozolin b , zoxamide b (fungicides), acetochlor b , benoxacor b , bifenox c , dimethamide P b , flumioxazin b , lenacil b , terbuthylazine b (herbicides) and acetamipride c , benfuracarb b , clofentezin b , cyhexatin c , dimethoate b , indoxacarb c , lambda-cyhalothrin b and tebufenpyrad b (insecticides) were analysed but never detected during this study a The average and 95% confidence intervals listed were calculated from the arithmetic mean and standard deviation of samples with concentration superior to 0 b Analyses performed with GC-MS/MS c Analyses performed with GC-2ECD 2009) and pesticides (Sauret et al 2008;Scheyer et al 2008).…”

“…Carbonaceous aerosols, particularly elemental carbon (EC), have been considered as factors affecting climate system due to its atmospheric radiative forcing capability (Badarinath and Latha, 2006;Panicker et al 2010;Cheng and Wu, 2011;Das and Jayaraman, 2011). Apart from its impacts on climate system, the role of carbonaceous particles on gas-particle partitioning of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), pesticides and dioxins, has been extensively evaluated in different countries during the past few years (Hayakawa et al, 2004;Tasdemir et al, 2004;Scheyer et al, 2008;Pongpiachan et al, 2009;Marcosa et al, 2010;Gaga and Ari, 2011;Yang et al, 2012;Pongpiachan, 2013a;2013b). Since POPs are widely considered as carcinogenic and mutagenic compounds (Binelli and Provini, 2004;Abas and Mohamad, 2011;Guo et al, 2012), it is therefore crucial to understand the behavior of OC/EC compositions in atmospheric environment.…”
