Abstract: This paper discusses the design, installation, operation and performance of a direct mixing evaporative cooling system as an alternate to conventional wetted rigid media systems used for gas turbine power augmentation. The economic return on investment, the ease of installation, and the potential problems as they apply to a typical gas turbine based cogeneration facility are discussed and analyzed.
