Gaussian process tomography based on Bayesian data analysis for soft x-ray and AXUV diagnostics on EAST*

Abstract: This work presents the Gaussian process tomography (GPT) based on Bayesian data analysis and its applications in soft x-ray (SXR) and absolute extreme ultraviolet spectroscopy (AXUV) diagnostics on experimental advanced superconducting tokamak (EAST). This is the first application of the GPT method in the AXUV diagnostic system in fusion devices. In [11] GPs are used to infer soft x-ray emissivity distributions from noisy line integral measurements, while in [12,13] GPs are similarly used to develop a GPs tomography method to reconstruct local soft xray emissivity in WEST and EAST, and similar approaches in ASDEX [14] upgrade and Wendelstein 7-X [15]. In [16][17][18] GPRs are applied to simulation studies with an eye towards eventual application to full experimental regimes, while in [19] studies are performed on three-dimensional equilibrium reconstruction from both experimental data as well as simulation codes.…”
