Gender (in)equity in global mental health research: A call to action

“…Funders must acknowledge and take responsibility for the fact that, in the current climate, global mental health research funding perpetuates and exacerbates the discrimination of women researchers, especially in the Global South. Given evidence that peer reviewers are biased towards men's research when they are not blinded to author gender, funders and journals should mainstream double blind peer and panel review ( Wykes & Evans, 2020 ).
