“…In addition, given that the TFL latency can be altered according to the tail and room temperature (Berge et al, 1988), all our experiments were performed in a temperature‐controlled environment (22 ± 2 °C), with high coil temperatures (up to 75 °C) and avoiding any visual or auditory cues, ensuring reliability. Highlighting that the descending inhibitory modulation becomes apparent between the 15th (Guy and Abbott, 1992; Weber et al, 1977) and the 21st (Van Praag and Frenk, 1991) postnatal days is crucial, which is a result of the delay in receptors maturation in the dorsal horn and the time‐dependent myelination of Aδ fibers (involved with thermal sensitivity) (Fitzgerald, 1991). According to the ontogeny of rats, the receptors reach maturity and Aδ fibers become myelinated, promoting faster conduction velocities and nociceptive response.…”

“…The anaesthetic management of patients with Eisenmenger's syndrome or carotid body tumour resection are each associated with significant anaesthetic problems, which have been previously described [3–16]. Their coexistence represents a rare and potentially greater anaesthetic challenge, with only a single case report identified in which general anaesthesia was used [17].…”
