This applied theory has been found to be effective in teaching a variety of skills to individuals with visual impairments (Lengyel, Domaracki, & Lyon, 1990), as well as with other types of disabilities, and in fostering the maintenance and generalization of treatment gains (Domaracki & Lyon, 1992;Frederick-Dugan, Test, & Yarn, 1991;Halle, Chadsey-Rusch, & Collet Klingenberg, 1993;Lehman, O'Neill, & Proctor, 1996;McDonnell, 1996).
