Generalized second law of thermodynamics in modified FRW cosmology with corrected entropy-area relation

Abstract: Using the corrected entropy-area relation motivated by the loop quantum gravity, we investigate the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics in the framework of modified FRW cosmology. We consider a non-flat universe filled with an interacting viscous dark energy with dark matter and radiation. The boundary of the universe is assumed to be the dynamical apparent horizon. We find out that the generalized second law is always satisfied throughout the history of the universe for any spatial curvat… Show more

“…For example, using the holographic principle it has been proposed that gravity is itself an entropic force derived from changes in the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy [64][65][66][67]. Based on this concept, the cosmological equations have been extensively examined in a homogeneous and isotropic universe [68][69][70][71][72], although the cosmological constant has not been discussed. In an alternative treatment, Easson et al [73,74] proposed an entropic cosmology that assumes the usually neglected surface terms on the horizon of the universe [75][76][77][78][79][80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87][88][89][90].…”

“…A simple way to parameterize deviations from the entropy area law (1) is by the addition of a term which is a power law of the area, [6,10,11]. The modified Friedmann equation in such models has the following form…”

“…In order to discuss GSLT, horizon entropy of the universe can be taken as one quarter of its horizon area [8] or power law corrected [9][10][11] or logarithmic corrected [12] forms. Many people have explored the validity of GSLT of different systems including interaction of two fluid components like DE and dark matter [13][14][15][16], as well as interaction of three components of fluid [17][18][19] in the FRW universe by using simple horizon entropy of the universe. The thermodynamical analysis widely performed in modified theories of gravity [20][21][22][23][24][25].…”
