Generalized second law of thermodynamics in the emergent universe for some viable models of f(T) gravity

Abstract: The present work is motivated by the study of reference [1], where the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics has been investigated for a flat FRW universe for three viable models of f (T ) gravity. We have here considered a non-flat universe and, accordingly, studied the behaviors of equation of state (EoS) parameter ω and of the deceleration parameter q.Subsequently, using the first law of thermodynamics, we derived the expressions for the time derivative of the total entropy of a universe enveloped … Show more

“…[23], our result eqn. (42) describes the validity of the generalized second law correctly. Furthermore, taking into account the de Sitter scale factor a(t) ∼ e Ht with H = constant in equation (42), we finḋ S I +Ṡ L = 0 which corresponds to a reversible adiabatic expansion of the Universe.…”

“…Let us now study the second law of thermodynamics through the usual equilibrium description (see also [282,284,[304][305][306] and references therein for related investigations). In terms of all fluids that are enclosed by the horizon, the Gibbs equation reads as T H dS t = d (ρ t V ) + P t dV = V dρ t + (ρ t + P t ) dV .…”
