Generation and measurement of shear waves in micellar fluids using ultrasound-based methods

Abstract: Wormlike micellar fluids are viscoelastic and their mechanical properties have been evaluated with mechanically generated shear waves combined with optical detection as well as rheological testing. In this work, we describe the use of acoustic radiation force and ultrafast ultrasound imaging to generate shear waves and measure their propagation, respectively.
