“…In this research, ξ g is assumed to be a constant and 0.3 is used based on previous works (Fan and Ahmadi,; Rofooei et al., ) and the time‐evolution of ωnormalg(t) is determined via a wavelet technique that moves from the beginning to the end of the ground motion. The time varying frequencies are determined via the pseudo frequency of the basis wavelets.…”

“…The proposed method includes a number of major steps. In the first step, the peak ground accelerations (PGAs) of all accelerograms were scaled to 1 g. Afterward, the duration of the earthquake record is obtained by eliminating the beginning and final part of the accelerogram containing less than 5% of the cumulative energy of the original record (Rofooei et al, 2001). Then, wavelet packet coefficients of the accelerograms were calculated at suitable DWPT decomposition levels ( J ).…”

“…For this experiment a MATLAB simulator based on the seismic models of [29] was used. For an SNR = À3 dB, Figure 5 shows the seismic signal and its filtered version using 2MM EKF with Rossler x-component as a model.…”
