Generation of Disassembly Directions Based on Component Mobility

Abstract: The paper presents the development of a new software tool integrated with SolidWorks CAD system for generating feasible disassembly directions based on the concept of mobility operator. In generating the disassembly path of a component, our approach considers that two steps should be undertaken: first, the interface between components is broken and then the component is extracted from the assembly by translating it along a collision free removal path. Different data from the CAD model of the assembly is automa… Show more

“…In order to achieve these goals, engineers make use of different knowledge, tools and methods (Pupaza, 2014), (Iacob, 2013) for supporting their work and for the early evaluation of their design decisions over the assembly cost and time. Efficient design software applications are offering the possibility to generate and use completely parameterized virtual 3D assembly models for automating activities such as: component design changes propagation within assembly, BoM (Bill of Materials) generation, interference checking or component reuse.…”

“…The assembly/disassembly operation can by decomposed into a sequence of elementary assembly tasks coupled in parallel with positioning tasks of work-piece along conveyor, as in (Baldwin, et al, 1991;Choi, et al, 1998;Ganget, et al, 2005) and (Iacob and Popescu, 2013 In Figure 2 is represented an elementary TPN model corresponding to an assembly operation. During disassembly process one can identify a repetitive sequence associated to a single disassembly operation and service assistance of WMR equipped with RM.…”

“…But how to update the ecological knowledge base conveniently still need to be further studied. Second, eco-design tools are eager to be combined with commercial CAD software to ease the eco-performance analysis [111][112][113][114]. For instance, the materials' eco-impact analysis in parts, disassembly movement analysis, and material compatibility analysis in DFR had been achieved by ecodeveloped CAD.…”
