Abstract: Nucleotide excision repair (NER) promotes genomic integrity by correcting bulky DNA adducts damage caused by external factors such as ultraviolet light. Defects in NER enzymes are associated with pathological conditions such as Xeroderma Pigmentosum, trichothiodystrophy, and Cockayne syndrome.
