Abstract:Aims:The aim of the present study was to reveal the microbial genetic diversity of epilithic biofilms using a DNA-based procedure. Methods and Results: A DNA extraction protocol was first selected to obtain PCR-amplifiable metagenomic DNA from a limestone biofilm.
