Genetic Drift and <em>Alphapapillomavirus</em> Evolution

Abstract: Pervasive purifying selection on non-synonymous substitutions is a hallmark of papillomavirus genome history. Whereas the role of selection on, and drift of, non-coding DNA elements on HPV diversification is poorly understood.
