Genome-Based Vaccinology Applied to Bovine Babesiosis

Abstract: Genomics approaches in veterinary research have been a very useful tool to identify candidates with potential to be used in prevention of animal diseases. In Babesia, genome information analysis has elucidated a wide variety of protein families and some members are described in this chapter. Here, we present some of the most recent studies about B. bovis and B. bigemina genomes where some proteins have been identified with potential to prevent infections by these parasites.
