“…They detected 98 significant QTLs (PVE 1.6%-24.9%) associated with flower, pod, plant type, and grain-related traits. 33 Karaköy et al 76 performed a genome wide association study (GWAS) in 372 Turkish genotypes using 23,661 diversity array technology sequence (DArTseq) markers and genotyping by sequencing (GBS) analysis. They identified 34 DArTseq marker-trait associations for plant structure and reproductive traits.…”

“…They identified 34 DArTseq marker-trait associations for plant structure and reproductive traits. 76 Recently, Skovbjerg et al 77 genotyped 2678 faba bean accessions using the Vfa-ba_v2 Axiom SNP array, which includes around 60 K probes. In this study, they conducted GWAS analysis with 21,345 SNP markers, which resulted in the identification of 238 significant marker-trait associations for growth, reproductive, and seed-related traits.…”

“…Genome-wide association study (GWAS) has become an important tool for geneticists in identifying genomic loci governing target traits in plants and is based on the association of genotypic and phenotypic data ( Torkamaneh and Belzile, 2022 ). Through GWAS on faba bean, genetic markers have been associated with agronomic traits such as heat stress and herbicide tolerance, plant architecture (height, branching, and flower/pod placement), time to flowering, and seed yield ( Abou-Khater et al., 2022 ; Maalouf et al., 2022 ; Karaköy et al., 2023 ; Li et al., 2023 ). Several GWAS on faba bean with a focus on seed quality aspects were also recently published, making use of the available reference genome to localize markers.…”
