“…In the present study, we found that GSTs were significantly expressed at higher levels in the gills of Neptunea cumingii under low temperature conditions in the winter, and similar results were also obtained previously for Pomacea canaliculata. Lin et al [44] found that PcGST5 and PcGST11 were significantly upregulated in the hepatopancreas of Pomacea canaliculata after cold stress. The production of ROS significantly increased in Mytilus galloprovincialis after cold stress at 4 • C (p < 0.01), where the peak value was 8.4 times that in the control group [45].…”

“…The recent release of whole genomic data of four apple snail species, i.e., P. canaliculata, P. maculata, L. nyassanus , and M. cornuarietis , has enabled an integrated identification of the crucial stress adaptation-related gene families using a comparative genomics strategy [15]. Previously, the GST family, which plays a vital role in the regulation of detoxification and redox balance of ROS, was characterized in P. canaliculata , which revealed 30 GST genes belonging to seven classes [47]. Our study represents the most comprehensive study of the HSP superfamily in apple snails.…”

“…Overlapping genes were manually removed. All candidate TRP genes were filtered by using the NCBI Conserved Domain Database (CDD, , accessed on 22 July 2022) [ 35 , 36 ] and Multiple EM for the Motif Elicitation (MEME) online tool ( , accessed on 22 July 2022) [ 37 ]. The MEME was set with the following parameters: any number of repetitions, a maximum of 10 motifs, and an optimum motif width of 6–50 residues [ 38 ], and MEME online was employed to analyze the motif structure of TRP proteins.…”
