“…We acknowledge that this type of core is not conventionally used for meiofaunal sampling, however, in our opinion obtaining meiofauna samples from this rare anomalous environment was more important than the employed methods. A Kasten corer functions in the same manner as a gravity corer, except that they are rectangular in profile and one side of the coring box is detachable, providing immediate access to the sediment so environmental data (temperature and pH) can be measured and sediment samples can be taken (Bautista‐Cruz et al, 2020).…”
