Abstract:‘Mélange’ has been used to indicate a larger spectrum of chaotic rock bodies formed in various and different tectonic settings (rift–drift cycles, oceanic subduction, continental collision, and intracontinental deformation) by tectonic, sedimentary, and diapiric processes and their mutual interaction.
