Pomerene (1964), Pires (1979), Alkmim et al (1996) e Endo (1997) atribuíram o homoclinal da Serra do Curral não só ao flanco do sinclinal como também a um anticlinal a sul, preservado apenas na junção com o Sinclinal Moeda.…”

“…Gneiss of Cocais is the only recognized gneiss in the dome. In better known gneiss domes in the Itabirito district (Herz andothers, 1961, p. 1113) and in the western Serra do Curral region (Simmons, 1968), gneisses of Herz' Groups III and IV occur on the fringes of the domes and envelop older granitic rocks in the central parts of the domes. If the structure of the Cocais dome is analogous to that of the better known gneiss domes, then older granitic rocks should occupy the central part of the dome, but this has not yet been ascertained.…”
