“Ghost” segregation pattern and ferroelectric domains in mixed calcium‐strontium‐barium niobates

Abstract: The defect structure investigations of selected ferroelectric niobates such as Sr x Ba 1-x Nb 2 O 6 (SBN), Ca x Ba 1-x Nb 2 O 6 (CBN) and mixed (Ca 0.28 Ba 0.72 ) y (Sr 0.61 Ba 0.39 ) 1-y Nb 2 O 6 (CSBN) single crystals grown by the Czochralski method have been performed by means of synchrotron and conventional diffraction topography and scanning electron microscopy.A new characteristic phenomenon has been indicated in CSBN crystals, which consisted in occurrence of two different systems of segregation fringes… Show more

“…The CSBN single crystals were grown at the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology (Poland) under the guidance of Prof. T. Lukasiewicz. Their structural measurements were published [ 20 , 21 ]. The real composition of the crystals obtained was checked with the use of ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectroscopy) method and the result was published [ 22 ].…”
