Abstract:Giardia intestinalis was long considered a nonpathogenic inhabitant of the bowel. Even recently Kofoid, Kornhauser and Plate 1 found this flagellate in 6 per cent, of 1,500 healthy American soldiers. Maxcy 2 obtained Giardia in the stools of 20 per cent.of 89 children examined.
